Caitie Deranek Stewart

Associate Director of Development

Caitie Deranek Stewart joined the Office of Gift Development in 2014 as the Assistant Director of Development working to develop relationships with leadership annual fund donors. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Indianapolis and is currently working on her Masters of Arts in Philanthropic Studies from the IU Lilly Family School of Philanthropy and Masters of Public Affairs with a concentration in Nonprofit Management from the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at IUPUI.

Caitie’s passion for healthcare education and research stems from several sources including ongoing battles by loved ones with rare and difficult diseases. She firmly believes that good health is a basic human right and the cures for many major illnesses are out there if only the support existed for the scientists to discover them.

As Director of our Dean’s Council, Caitie works closely with the Dean’s Council Board of Directors in their mission to encourage philanthropic support for the School of Medicine.

In addition to her work at the IU School of Medicine, Caitie is active in the local nonprofit community and is interested in improving the practice of fundraising around the world. She is a professional vocalist and maintains a small private voice studio as well as enjoying reading, cooking, and spending time with her husband, Nick.
