John J. Coleman III Lectureship in Plastic Surgery
Many of us have benefited from Dr. Jack Coleman’s commitment to his trainees, patients and profession through his work at the Indiana University School of Medicine, Division of Plastic Surgery. After nearly 25 years, he officially retired from the School on December 31, 2015 and became the James E. Bennett Emeritus Professor of Plastic Surgery. In recognition of his distinguished career, we are leading a campaign to endow a named lectureship in honor of Dr. Coleman and hope you will consider donating to this worthy cause.
Dr. Coleman’s devotion to his students, residents and fellows and his genuine concern for their professional and personal well-being is equally inspiring. He has been recognized by nearly every prestigious professional organization in the field of surgery and plastic surgery, clearly indicating his standing as one of the most esteemed plastic surgeons in the world. Whether you have developed a relationship with Dr. Coleman as a surgical resident, fellow, student, colleague, friend or family member, you understand the degree to which he has elevated the standard of plastic surgical care.
For these reasons, the John J. Coleman III Lectureship in Plastic Surgery is being established. This lectureship will provide a mechanism to bring national and international experts in the field of plastic surgery to the IU campus in order to build on the rich legacy that Dr. Coleman has helped establish within the Division of Plastic Surgery. It will also provide lasting recognition of Dr. Coleman’s distinguished career, and we can think of no better way to honor him.
Residents, students, fellows, and colleagues have counted on Dr. Coleman for his vision, leadership, and friendship for over two decades. Today, we are confident that we can count on you to help us raise $100,000 and to honor him in the most fitting way possible. Your generous support to the Coleman Lectureship will ensure that Dr. Jack Coleman’s legacy will continue at Indiana University for perpetuity. Please know that gifts at any amount are needed and appreciated, and contributions can be made as an outright gift, a pledge to be paid over 5 years, or through a planned gift.
This will be our expression of gratitude, appreciation and tribute to a man who has enriched our lives. We thank you for your consideration.
